A question around the visiting of The Dead – if contamination was a known issue why were visits still permitted or did this story take place before tactile contact virus transmission was known?

It’s a known issue, but the authorities rely on people having a bit of common sense and self-preservation sense when they visit; a bit like it’s a known issue that poking at an angry bulldog or doberman will result in unpleasant consequences, but people still own them… 99% of people don’t go around deliberately lowering their filters, it’s a bit like visiting someone in a clean zone and taking off your hazmat suit…
